Installation Requirements
Installation Requirements & Guidelines
To help ensure your installation goes smoothly and efficiently, we’ve outlined a checklist of requirements that must be in place before our team arrives. These steps are essential for maintaining safety, avoiding delays, and protecting your property during installation. Please review the information below carefully to prepare your space and understand what to expect on the day.
Installation Requirements
To ensure a smooth and timely installation, please ensure the following preparations are completed before our team arrives:
Preparations | |
---|---|
Parking | Reserve on-site parking for two vehicles. |
Access | Clear all access routes of any obstructions to allow safe and easy movement of materials. |
Installation Area | Ensure the workspace is clear of all furniture, fixtures, and obstructions. |
Electrical Points | Remove or isolate any sockets or electrical points located within the installation area. |
Kitchen Storage | Empty all kitchen drawers and remove any pull-out accessories in the affected area. |
Work Area Access | No other tradespeople should be working in the installation zone during our visit. |
Property Protection | While our team will work with care, we cannot guarantee that surrounding surfaces or furniture will remain undamaged. Please protect floors, walls, and any items along access routes or near the installation site. |
On-Site Contact | Provide the name and contact details of the person responsible for signing off the installation. If this person is not present, decisions may need to be made on-site, and we cannot accept liability for any outcomes that do not align with your preferences. |
Important
If these requirements are not met, our installation team may be unable to proceed with the work. In such cases, a full installation charge will still apply.
If your installation must be rescheduled, please note that we cannot guarantee next-day availability. During busy periods, the next available slot may be several days or weeks later.

Supporting Structure |
For flush-mounted or undermounted basins, we recommend installing a supporting structure within the base unit. This ensures the weight of the basin (especially when filled with water) is carried by the underlying framework rather than the porcelain countertop. Note that the client is responsible for providing this. Often the material used for support is the same as for the kitchen cabinets and client can source it from their kitchen supplier.

Reinforcing the Countertop |
We also suggest reinforcing the underside of the countertop, around the perimeter of the sink with offcuts using an epoxy resin adhesive.

Hob Installation | Installation methods vary by hob type. You must provide and install appropriate support bars beneath the hob, securely anchored to the base units to accommodate the stresses placed on the surface. |
Tap Installation | We strongly recommend consulting a professional when installing taps. Porcelain surfaces can be damaged by over-tightening, so care must be taken during fitting. |
Appliance Connections | Plumbing and electrical connections should be arranged for at least 24 hours after the installation to allow adhesives and sealants to fully cure. Our installation team does not carry out plumbing or appliance connections. |
Countertop Joints | All joints and any gaps above upstands will be sealed using decorator’s caulk or silicone, as appropriate and in line with the manufacturer’s guidance. |
Summary
Proper preparation is essential to ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality installation. By following the steps outlined above, you help us deliver the best possible result with minimal disruption. If you have any questions about the requirements or need clarification ahead of your installation date, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our support team.
